Route 1
Aerobic: Intermediate
Technical: Easy
This ride is designed as an out-and-back up
Aptos Creek Road to the
Sand Point overlook. Aptos Creek Road conveniently starts out relatively
flat before beginning its relentless climb at about four miles
near the
epicenter of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Those disinclined to
tackle this should bail out here and settle for a very scenic
eight-mile
out-and-back cruise.
