Start at
main entrance to Malibu Creek State Park. Head up the main paved road.
At .3 miles veer right onto Crags Road, which
soon turns to
dirt. Pass the Visitor Center and Century Lake. Pass the "MASH" filming
site at 2.6 miles.
2.8 miles left on Bulldog Motorway. Begin to climb.
3.8 miles stay left
4.1 miles stay left
6.4 miles left on Mesa Peak Motorway
7.2 miles pass through Corral Canyon parking
7.5 miles stay left on fire road
10.1 miles left on Tapia Motorway. Use caution on steep descent.
11.9 miles right on unmarked trail
12.5 miles left on Malibu Canyon Road. Fast, busy road. Use caution.
14.7 miles left into park and Finish
Note: CORBA has been engaged in a long-term struggle to open a spur
trail from Tapia to Malibu Creek parks to bikes. If (when) this battle
is won, the hazardous section on Malibu Canyon Road
will be
eliminated.

Begin at
parking lot on the west side of Kanan Road, just north of the first
tunnel north of PCH. Head steeply uphill on a trail heading south to
reach the Backbone Trail. Trail rolls through oak woodlands and scrub.
2.3 miles cross Latigo Canyon Road to regain trail
3.9 miles left on fire road. Climbs steeply.
4.7 miles right on Mesa Peak Motorway
5.3 miles stay right
6.1 miles right on Backbone Trail at Corral Canyon parking.
8.8 miles cross fire road to stay on trail
10.4 miles cross Latigo Canyon Rd. to stay on trail
12.7 miles Finish
